It is National Rock, Paper, Scissors Day and we celebrated with the staff at Cowden-Herrick Elementary School. Teachers and staff collected beads throughout the day with rounds of rock, paper, scissors. The finalists were Miss Burrus, Mrs. Nelson,, Mrs. Sarver, Mrs. Harmeier and Miss Kirksey. An "all or nothing" round was played and we would like to congratulate Mrs. Harmeier as the 2026 Rock , Paper, Scissors Champion! We are Bobcat Proud! CH Elementary is a great place to be!

Pack Your Locker Night
When: Wednesday, August 5
6:00 p.m. 6th grade and any new JH students
7:00 p.m. 9th grade and any new HS students
Where: Junior High Library, Cowden
Orientation will familiarize parents and students with the basic policies and procedures of the Jr/Sr High building. Members of the student council will show students where their locker and classes are located. All 6th, 9th, and any new students and parents/guardians are encouraged to attend.
The building will also be open from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for all students 6th-12th to come in and pack their lockers and be ready for the first day of school!
Lake Land College and Lift(Leaders Innovating for Tomorrow) will each have a table set
up for any high school student interested in their programs for upcoming junior or senior year.

Junior High and High School Awards Day will be held on Wednesday, May 13th. High School will be at 1:00 pm and Junior High at 2:00 pm in the HIGH SCHOOL GYM. Students will be allowed to leave with their parents after the awards ceremony is over. Please enter through the High School doors, where the blue canopy is.
