K-5 students gathered at the flagpole to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and observe a Moment of Silence to remember those who were lost and be thankful for the brave people who helped others on September 11, 2001. Students learned that when our American flag is lowered from the top of the flagpole, at half-staff, it is a special sign of respect, honor, and remembrance. So when you see our American flag at half-staff, remember what it is telling us: We remember. We honor. We are grateful. And we will never forget. God Bless America!
